What is DJ Training Academy?

DJ Training Academy (DJTA) is a professional DJ and Music Production training institute based in New Delhi, India. We offer DJ courses, Music Production courses, Ableton Live training, online classes, one-to-one mentorship, and career guidance for aspiring DJs and producers.

 

Who can join DJ Training Academy?

​No prior experience is required for beginner-level courses.

​​Do I need a musical background?

​No. Our courses are designed to start from the fundamentals and gradually progress to advanced concepts.

 

What is the minimum age requirement?

Students should generally be at least 14 years old. Younger students may be considered with parental supervision and approval.

Can I learn DJing online?

​Yes. Our online DJ courses are specifically designed to help students learn professional DJing from the comfort of their homes from anywhere in the world.​

​

​Are these group or 1 on 1 personalised training?

Our online classes are conducted under a 1-on-1 mentorship model, ensuring every student receives personal attention and direct guidance from the instructor.

However, if another student with a similar skill level, learning pace, and course requirements wishes to join, the session may be converted into a small group class. We carefully ensure that all students in the same batch are on the same learning path and cover identical course topics, so no one is held back or left behind.

The number of students in a session depends on the course and each student's prior experience. Our priority is always to maintain a productive learning environment while delivering personalized mentoring.

​Will online classes be live or pre-recorded?

Our online courses primarily consist of live instructor-led sessions where students can interact, ask questions, and receive real-time guidance.

​

​Do i need any DJ equipment to join this course ?

Yes, we recommend that every student build a basic DJ workstation at home to get the most out of the course and practice regularly between sessions.

Your DJ workstation should ideally include:

• DJ hardware/controller with compatible DJ software

• DJ headphones

• Laptop/computer — especially if you are using a separate DJ controller rather than an all-in-one system

• A pair of studio monitors (speakers) for proper sound monitoring

The exact equipment requirements and recommendations are mentioned in the Course Details section. If you are unsure about what equipment to buy, we can also guide you on choosing the right setup according to your requirements and budget.

​Which platform do you use for online classes?

​Online classes may be conducted through Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, or other approved learning platforms.

​

​​​Can students from outside India join?

​Absolutely. Students from any country can enroll in our online courses but according to Indian Standard Time provided by the instructor.

​

​​​What internet speed is recommended?

A stable broadband connection with at least 20 Mbps download speed is recommended for a smooth learning experience.

​

​Will my course fee increase after I enroll?

No. Once your admission is confirmed and your enrollment fee has been accepted by DJ Training Academy, the agreed course fee remains fixed for the duration of that course.

DJ Training Academy does not increase course fees midway through an ongoing program. Even if the academy revises its pricing for future batches, students who have already enrolled will continue under the fee structure that was communicated and agreed upon at the time of admission.

We believe in maintaining transparency, fairness, and trust throughout the learning journey.

All offline sessions are personalised 1 n 1 training sesions.

​Do I need my own DJ equipment?

While it is possible to start learning without equipment, we strongly recommend having your own DJ controller, headphones and monitors for regular practice.

​How much practice is required?

We recommend a minimum of 30 to 60 minutes of daily practice for consistent progress.​​

Common Questions

​

Which DAW do you teach?

We primarily teach Ableton Live but may also discuss workflows applicable to other digital audio workstations.

​

Do I need a MIDI keyboard?

No. A MIDI keyboard can be useful but is not mandatory for learning music production.

​

Can I produce music on a laptop?

Yes. A modern laptop with sufficient RAM and storage is usually enough to begin learning music production.

FAQ For Ableton Live Essentials Course

​

Is this a music production course?

No. Ableton Live Essentials is primarily a software and workflow fundamentals course. It teaches you how Ableton Live works, including its interface, Browser, Session View, Arrangement View, MIDI, audio, recording, editing, plugins, racks, mixer, automation and file management.

​

Is this course suitable for beginners?

Yes. The course is designed to build your understanding from the fundamentals of Ableton Live before moving into more advanced software features.

​

Do I need previous Ableton Live experience?

No. Beginners can start from the basics. If you have already experimented with Ableton Live, the course can also help you organise and strengthen your understanding.

​

Will I learn how to make complete songs?

The focus of this course is not complete music production. You will learn the tools and workflows inside Ableton Live that are used for music production.

​

Will I learn MIDI in Ableton Live?

Yes. The course covers MIDI configuration, recording, editing, quantization, groove, pitch, duration, velocity, probability and other MIDI workflows.

​

Will I learn audio recording?

Yes. You will learn how to configure audio inputs, record audio, edit audio clips, use fades, comping and understand audio warping and quantization.

​

Does the course cover Session View and Arrangement View?

Yes. Both are major components of the course. Ableton Live uses these two views for different but interconnected workflows.

​

Will I learn how to use plugins?

Yes. The course introduces Ableton Live's instruments and effects as well as third-party plugin workflows.

​

Will I learn Ableton Live Racks?

Yes. Audio Effect Racks, Instrument Racks, Drum Racks, Zones and Macros are included.

​

Is mixing and mastering included?

No. Detailed mixing and mastering are outside the primary scope of this course.

​

Is music theory included?

No. The course is focused on understanding Ableton Live as a DAW.

​

Can DJs take this course?

Absolutely. It is particularly useful for DJs who want to understand Ableton Live before moving from DJing into music production, edits, remixes or more advanced creative workflows.

Is this useful before taking a full music production course?

Yes. The course can be used as a software foundation before progressing into a more comprehensive music production program.

FAQ For Electronic Music Production & Sound Design Cpourse

 

Is this a complete music production course?

Yes. Unlike the Ableton Live Essentials course, this program focuses on actually creating electronic music, including sound design, synthesis, arrangement, mixing and basic mastering.

​

Is this course only for techno?

No. The course uses electronic music and techno/EDM-oriented production techniques, but the skills can be applied to house, progressive, techno, EDM and many other electronic genres.

​

Can beginners join?

Yes. The course introduces the fundamentals before progressing into sound design, arrangement and mixing.

​

Do I need previous music production experience?

No. Beginners can start with the fundamentals.

​

Can DJs join this course?

Absolutely. DJs often have a natural advantage when learning arrangement, rhythm and electronic music structure, and the course provides a pathway from DJing into production.

Can I create my own original music?

Yes. Original music production is one of the key objectives of the course.

​

Can I learn to make remixes?

Yes. The course covers production workflows and techniques that can be applied to remix production.

Can I learn to make mashups?

Yes. The skills involving stems, audio, MIDI, arrangement, tempo, processing and mixing can be applied to mashup creation.

Will I learn sound design?

Yes. Sound design is a major component of the course, including synthesis using Serum

​

Will I learn Serum?

Yes. The Serum module covers oscillators, wavetables, unison, filters, envelopes, LFOs, macros, modulation and sound creation.

​

Will I learn mixing?

Yes. The course includes practical mixing techniques for drums, bass, synths, keyboards and effects.

​

​

Will I learn mastering?

Yes. The course introduces fundamental mastering techniques including EQ, compression, saturation, stereo processing and limiting.

​

Is this a professional mastering-engineering course?

No. The mastering component is designed to give producers a practical understanding of basic mastering and final-track preparation, rather than train dedicated mastering engineers.

​

Do I need to know music theory?

Not necessarily. Music theory can be helpful, but the course is focused primarily on practical electronic music production and sound design.

​

Is Ableton Live required?

If Ableton Live is the DAW used for your teaching, say so explicitly here:

"The course is taught using Ableton Live. Students should have access to Ableton Live for practical training."

If you intend to support other DAWs, change the wording accordingly.

Should I take Ableton Live Essentials first?

If you are completely new to Ableton Live, it is recommended because Ableton Live Essentials focuses specifically on learning the software. The Electronic Music Production course then focuses on using that software creatively to produce music.

Will I receive a certificate?

Yes. Eligible students may receive a certificate upon successful completion of the course requirements.

Is the certificate internationally recognized?

Our certificates demonstrate course completion and training. Recognition may vary depending on employers, organizations, and industry requirements.

What happens if I miss a class?

Students are encouraged to attend all sessions. Missed classes may not always be eligible for replacement or rescheduling.

Are recordings available?

Can DJ Training Academy help me get gigs?

We provide guidance, mentorship, and industry insights; however, we do not guarantee bookings, employment, or performance opportunities.

We are occasionally approached by our industry partners for opportunities at clubs, private events, festivals, and corporate shows. We recommend only those students who have demonstrated the required level of skill, professionalism, and performance readiness.

To be considered for such opportunities, students must successfully clear any auditions or trial performances conducted by the organizer. Selection is typically based on factors such as music knowledge, DJing skills, technical proficiency, track selection, stage presence, confidence, crowd engagement, and overall professionalism.

While DJ Training Academy may facilitate introductions and opportunities where available, placement or performance opportunities cannot be guaranteed and are subject to the requirements and final approval of the respective event organizers.

Can I become a professional DJ after completing the course?

The course provides the skills and knowledge required to begin your journey as a professional DJ. Success depends on your dedication, practice, networking, and continued learning.
