The CFX (Colour Effects) knob is located below the EQ section. Activating the Smart CFX allows you to manipulate preset combinations of various effects with a single twist of the knob. Rekordbox excels in this aspect by offering 8 different effects combinations that can be adjusted using the knob.
djay provides two different settings for the knob. In mode 1, turning right activates 'Riser' and turning left activates 'Stutter', while in mode 2, turning right activates 'Hydrant' and turning left activates 'Landing'.
Serato has more limited options, allowing you to choose between the knob controlling either echo and filter or reverb and filter.
The Smart Fader is a feature designed to smoothly transition between tracks by adjusting volume, BPM, and bass automatically. To use it, simply slide the fader to mix between tracks. The functionality of the Smart Fader varies depending on the software you are using.
When the Smart Fader button is off, the fader operates normally.
In rekordbox, the Smart Fader functions similarly to the DDJ-FLX4. It automatically adjusts the volume, BPM, and bass frequencies of two tracks as you move the fader, ensuring a seamless blend.
In djay, the Smart Fader works similarly to rekordbox but offers additional options under "Crossfader Fusion." You can select between Fade & Filter Mix and choose whether to enable BPM transition.
In Serato, the Smart Fader does not have automatic BPM sync. Instead, it produces a 'Fat Echo' or 'Fat Reverb' effect that can be applied when the crossfader is deactivated.
